Stuck in Server Creation
If your server creation process is taking an unusually long time or getting stuck while creating the server files or initializing the playit.gg tunnel, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Quick Checklist & Fixes
Section titled “Quick Checklist & Fixes”1. Power Cycle Host Devices & Router
Section titled “1. Power Cycle Host Devices & Router”Temporary network glitches or stale socket connections can cause tunnel initialization to hang.
- Host PC: Completely restart your computer.
- Network Router: Unplug your router and modem, wait 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
- App: Re-open SquidServers once the internet connection is re-established.
2. Check Storage & Folder Permissions
Section titled “2. Check Storage & Folder Permissions”Ensure your hard drive has sufficient free storage space and that SquidServers has write permissions to create files in your designated server directory.
- Check that your disk is not full.
- On Windows, try restarting SquidServers as Administrator. See Run as Administrator.
3. Verify Playit.gg Status
Section titled “3. Verify Playit.gg Status”Because SquidServers uses playit.gg to assign public tunnel hostnames automatically, a temporary playit outage can delay tunnel assignment.
- Check live service status at status.playit.gg.
4. Delete Pending Files & Retry
Section titled “4. Delete Pending Files & Retry”If a setup attempt failed midway:
- Stop any loading process and close SquidServers.
- If a partial server folder was created, delete it or rename it.
- Open SquidServers and create the server again.
