Server Backups
SquidServers includes built-in backup tools to protect your world, player data, and configurations from corruption or accidental deletion.
Manual Backups
Section titled “Manual Backups”To create an immediate backup of your server:
- Open SquidServers and select your server.
- Click the Backups tab in the left sidebar.
- Click Backup Server Now.
- Wait for the status indicator to report backup complete.
All backup archives are stored locally on your PC inside your server directory under backups/.
Automatic Backups
Section titled “Automatic Backups”You can enable automated background backups:
- Go to the Backups tab.
- Toggle on Enable Automatic Backups.
- Set your desired frequency (e.g. daily or every X hours) and maximum backup retention limit.
- Automatic backups will trigger periodically whenever the server is running.
Restoring a Backup
Section titled “Restoring a Backup”If a world breaks or you want to rollback changes:
- Stop your server.
- Go to the Backups tab.
- Scroll down to Backup History.
- Find the backup snapshot you wish to restore and click Restore Backup.
- Choose whether to perform a World Only restore or a Full Restore (restores plugins, mods, and configs as well).
- Click Confirm Restore.
- Start your server.
