Server Backups

SquidServers includes built-in backup tools to protect your world, player data, and configurations from corruption or accidental deletion.

To create an immediate backup of your server:

  1. Open SquidServers and select your server.
  2. Click the Backups tab in the left sidebar.
  3. Click Backup Server Now.
  4. Wait for the status indicator to report backup complete.

All backup archives are stored locally on your PC inside your server directory under backups/.

You can enable automated background backups:

  1. Go to the Backups tab.
  2. Toggle on Enable Automatic Backups.
  3. Set your desired frequency (e.g. daily or every X hours) and maximum backup retention limit.
  4. Automatic backups will trigger periodically whenever the server is running.

If a world breaks or you want to rollback changes:

  1. Stop your server.
  2. Go to the Backups tab.
  3. Scroll down to Backup History.
  4. Find the backup snapshot you wish to restore and click Restore Backup.
  5. Choose whether to perform a World Only restore or a Full Restore (restores plugins, mods, and configs as well).
  6. Click Confirm Restore.
  7. Start your server.
