Server Settings & Properties
SquidServers provides a user-friendly UI tab to edit your server’s core settings without manually editing text files.
Changing Core Settings in App
Section titled “Changing Core Settings in App”- Open SquidServers and select your server.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Modify any of the following fields:
| Setting | Options / Range | Description |

| Game Mode | Survival, Creative, Adventure, Spectator | Default game mode for new players. |
| Difficulty | Peaceful, Easy, Normal, Hard | World difficulty setting. |
| Server Message (MOTD) | Custom Text | Text displayed under your server name in the Minecraft multiplayer list. |
| Enable PvP | Enabled / Disabled | Toggles player-vs-player damage. |
| Allow Flying | Enabled / Disabled | Required if players use Elytra, creative flight, or mods that trigger “kicked for flying”. |
| Enable Command Blocks | Enabled / Disabled | Enables execution of command blocks in world. |
| Hardcore Mode | Enabled / Disabled | Enables permadeath. (Requires generating a new world). |
| View Distance | 3 to 12 (Default 7) | Radius of chunks loaded around players. Lowering reduces ping/lag. |
| Spawn Protection | 0 to 16 | Radius around spawn protected from non-OP players (0 disables). |
- Click Save Changes in the top right.
- Restart your server for changes to apply.
In-Game Console Commands (OP)
Section titled “In-Game Console Commands (OP)”You can also change settings dynamically in-game if you are an Operator (OP):
